Black omega
A block's last sat that is also the last sat of a whole bitcoin: black and omega at once, a sat s where s + 1 is divisible by 100,000,000.
How a sat qualifies
The category holds every sat that is both black (the last sat of a block, offset subsidy - 1) and an omega (s + 1 divisible by 100,000,000). In other words, it is the last sat of a block that ends on a whole bitcoin, which happens exactly when the next block begins with an alpha.
The black tiers are exclusive, so a last sat that is black rare or black epic is not plain black and is not in this category, even when it is an omega. Sat 10,079,999,999,999, the last sat of block 2,015, is such a black rare omega.
Which blocks
- Blocks 0 to 419,999: every block ends on a whole bitcoin. The first black omega is sat 4,999,999,999, the last sat of block 0.
- From block 420,000 only some blocks do, every second one at first and fewer at each halving. For example, sat 1,968,752,499,999,999 closes block 840,007.
- From block 2,100,000 on, none do.
The milestone sats that close a block, such as the plain Kilosat blacks, are black omegas too and count here as well as in their own category.
Its neighbour and the pair rule
The sat right after a black omega opens the next block on a whole bitcoin. A black omega is plain black, so that next block does not start a difficulty period or a halving epoch, and its first sat is always an alpha uncommon: the two categories pair up one to one. The site's pair rule counts an alpha uncommon sold with the black sat before it as the alpha uncommon's sale, the black omega as its secondary row.
