Black epic
The last sat of a halving epoch: the last sat of a block whose next block's height is a multiple of 210,000. 33 will ever exist.
How a sat qualifies
A sat is black epic when it is the last sat of block h (offset subsidy - 1) and h + 1 is a multiple of 210,000: the last sat mined before the subsidy halves. It is the highest tier of the black family (black epic > black rare > black), so it is never counted in the other two, even at a cycle end, where the block also closes a difficulty adjustment period.
Its neighbours
The sat after a black epic opens the next halving epoch:
- an epic, for 27 of them;
- a legendary, for the 5 that end a cycle (
h + 1a multiple of 1,260,000); - nothing, for the last one: block 6,929,999 is the last block with a subsidy, and its only sat, 2,099,999,997,689,999, is both the last sat ever mined and a black epic (and, like every sat of the final epoch, where a block's subsidy is one sat, uncommon as well).
Examples
- Sat 1,049,999,999,999,999, the last sat of block 209,999, is also a Centasat black.
- Sat 1,574,999,999,999,999 (block 419,999) is also a Decasat black.
- Sat 1,837,499,999,999,999 (block 629,999) is also a Kilosat black.
- Sat 1,968,749,999,999,999 is the last sat of block 839,999.
