Alpha uncommon
A block's first sat that is also the first sat of a whole bitcoin: uncommon and alpha at once, a sat number divisible by 100,000,000.
How a sat qualifies
The category holds every sat that is both uncommon (the first sat of a block, offset 0) and an alpha (a sat number divisible by 100,000,000). In other words, it is the first sat of a block whose subsidy starts on a whole bitcoin.
The rarity tiers are exclusive, so a first sat that is rare, epic, legendary or mythic is not uncommon and not in this category, even when it is an alpha. Sat 0, mythic, is the first one left out.
Which blocks
- Blocks 1 to 419,999: every block starts on a whole bitcoin (subsidies of 50 and then 25 bitcoin). The first alpha uncommon is sat 5,000,000,000, the first sat of block 1.
- From block 420,000 the subsidy is 12.5 bitcoin, so every second block does; at each later halving fewer blocks line up. For example, sat 1,968,752,500,000,000 opens block 840,008.
- From block 2,100,000 on, no block starts on a whole bitcoin.
The milestone sats that open a block, such as the plain Kilosat uncommons, are alpha uncommons too and count here as well as in their own category.
Its neighbour and the pair rule
The sat just before an alpha uncommon is the last sat of the previous block and the last sat of a bitcoin. Because an alpha uncommon's block does not start a difficulty period or a halving epoch (it would be rare or epic), that sat is always a plain black omega, and the two categories have the same total. The site's sales rules have a pair rule for this: an alpha uncommon sold with the black sat before it counts as the alpha uncommon's sale, the black side shown as a secondary row.
