      Sales

      About these prices

      Each point is one sale of tracked sats, found on chain by the fork: a marketplace listing or an accepted offer paid in the same transaction. Its price is the marketplace's: on Magisat the listing price, the seller's payment plus Magisat's 0.5% seller fee since September 2024 (the buyer's fee is not in it), and for an accepted Magisat offer the payment plus half the fee output; elsewhere the seller's payment plus the marketplace's fees. Sales with no marketplace fee in the transaction (OKX's, among others) are Unknown.

      The unit price is the price less the sold output's own value, per sat of a row. Each sale is of one row, the rarest that holds all the sats it sold, so rows don't overlap: Uncommon is plain uncommons (a 2012 uncommon is an Alpha uncommon, a rare sat a Rare), Block 9 is block 9 chunks (a 450x chunk is 450x). A bundle that mixes rows is of its rarest row. A label row, such as Block 9, 1st tx (a label within Block 9), has no market of its own: it lists the sales lying in it, each as its own row. Include rarer sub-categories also shows a row's rarer sub-categories, such as the alpha uncommons under Uncommon: lighter, priced per sat of the row, named by their own, and outside its median and market numbers. A sale that splits sats out of an output counts only the sats it sold. A sale for no more than the output's own value has no unit price above zero: it is in the table, not on the chart.

      The line is the row's median unit price over the 30 days up to each sale. Outliers, drawn hollow, sold for over 10 times or under a tenth of the median of the row's previous seven sales: a fat finger, a wash trade, something else in the output. They are left out of the line and the row's market numbers. Inscribed sats carry an inscription, whose value is not the rare sat's: hidden unless you include them, and never in the line.

      Inscribed sats

      An inscribed sat carries an inscription; the site counts inscribed rare sats apart and keeps their sales out of rare-sat prices unless you ask for them.

      What counts as inscribed

      An inscription is content attached to a single sat under ordinal theory. The index reads inscription envelopes as transactions reveal them, but only on the sats it tracks, so "inscribed" here always means a tracked rare sat that carries an inscription. A sat is inscribed when it carries one now; the sat page also says how many inscriptions landed on it, re-inscriptions included.

      In the supply

      Each category's inscribed number is how many of its located sats carry an inscription now, recomputed once a block. For example, 21,914 uncommon sats are inscribed. Inscriptions revealed in transactions still in the mempool are not counted until they are mined.

      In prices

      An inscription has a value of its own, which is not the rare sat's. A sale is inscribed when a tracked sat it sold carried an inscription when sold, that is, inscribed by an earlier transaction (an inscription made later in the sale's own block does not count). Inscribed sales are:

      • hidden in the sales views unless you switch on Include inscribed;
      • never in a category's median line, and left out of its market numbers (the 30-day median and the volumes);
      • never judged as outliers, and never part of the earlier sales another sale is judged against.

      See unit price for how the other sales are priced.

      On the marketplace

      Only plain rare sats can be listed here: an output that carries an inscription or runes cannot be listed, and a buyer's inscribed outputs are never spent as padding or funding.
